Meet Mandy Duncan from Noah & Bowie

The girl with the hair to die for and curves to match, this weeks girlboss is from Auckland.

Owner and designer of her own kids-wear boutique Noah and Bowie, which by the way is lovingly named after her two kids. She creates the most luxe fair trade pieces for the little-ones, we are super jelly they don’t come in our size. Check it out here.

Aside from running her business, raising her kids and being the hottest wife we ever seen, she has quite a following on the GRAM. We fell in love with her raw and honest opinions, especially her positive approach to truly loving yourself. She ain’t sugar coating it. This gal is honest and real, which is so refreshing in amongst all the photoshop. Like Kendrick Lamar said show me something real, we think he be talking about Mandy!

If you are not already a regular stalker of her Instagram page @mandyduncan or @noahandbowie you should def hit that follow button girlfriend and check out what she gets up to here.
Mandy Duncan New Zealand Business Owner

Where do you live and how old are you? We live in Auckland, nz – Im almost 27. ha !

How old do you feel?
Depends on the day I guess. When its been a shitter with the kids I feel 50 and when my husband and I go out and get down on the d floor I feel 18 ha !

What does a normal day in the life of Mandy look like? I get up and before I do anything I have my coffee, get the kids ready for school and kindy, pack lunches etc, all that glamorous business ya know. Drop them off and then home to do a little housework and then straight into work.

Mandy Duncan New Zealand Business OwnerHow was Noah and Bowie (the business) born  Well when I fell pregnant with Bowie I knew I would have to go back to work when she was a couple months old. I knew I would suck at a normal job cause I don’t really take being told what to do very well and I would have probably been fired week one so I had to start something that I could do from home and be my own boss.

What has been a pinch me moment in your life? I think when Kelvyn and I got married. It was such a long time coming and in the moment it was like holy shit this is actually happening

Who is your biggest
inspiration?
All girl bosses really! Women working for what they want and believe in. I particularly love Khloe Kardashian, I just think she’s such a badass in everything she does.

How did you and Kelvyn meet? And what would be your number 1 relationship advise for a happy/healthy relationship? We actually met in a club called The Loaded Hog. It was one of those “stare at each other from across the room’ deals. I know,
super romantic haha. My advice would be to put each other first. always. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Be intimate, a lot (Kelvyn will tell me to practice what I preach here haha). And if you’re parents, to be a team. Don’t turn parenthood stresses into relationship stresses. And most importantly, don’t ever forget the people you were before you had kids. Make time to go out and be in each others company like before you had children. I always say that your kids are fine, its natural instinct to nurture your children but you have to actually work on nurturing your relationship.

Quote to live by?
Be kind to yourself. Being a mum means always worrying about everyone else. You need to take a step back and put yourself first. Its so important to love yourself and that starts by taking care of yourself.

What advice would you give your younger self? To not let other peoples opinions put out your fire.

Mandy Duncan New Zealand Business OwnerWhat do you want to achieve in the next 5 years? So much, I desperately want another baby so hopefully that happens in the next couple years. I want to still be as happy as I am now in my marriage. And I want Noah & Bowie to continue to grow and flourish.

Have you had any road block or failures? If so how did you overcome them?
Too many to even write about to honest. I’m a huge believer in trusting your timing and that everything happens for a reason. I freaked out, then I work it out. You just have to.

Recent Girlboss moment? Being featured in Renovate magazine was pretty awesome.

One thing no one knows about you. I legit sound like Beyonce in the shower.

Favourite snack! Anything thats bad for you FML

Current song on repeat? Despacito by Justin Bieber – yup I totally went there.
