Meet Julie Barbour from Sisters on London

A couple days ago we interviewed boss lady and blonde bombshell at Sisters on London boutique. If you have ever been or lived in Hamilton you know who we are talking about: It’s Julie Barbour bitch :D!
We remember stepping foot into the store on London Street for the first time a few years back and we literally wanted everything…. EVERYTHING. She may have even sparked our love for One Teaspoon as the first designer denim we ever brought together, and yes we brought matching pairs, and it all started from her store. If you haven’t visited the store you must! Not only is she a super stylish girlboss but she is an even bigger sweetheart.

Sisters On London storeWhat made you start Sisters On London?
Back in 2008 I was busy Vet Nursing but spending a lot of personal time shopping and into fashion. Hamilton was really needing a high end boutique to feed my shopping addiction and within 2-3 weeks Sisters On London was created!

What other women in your life inspire you?
I am inspired by many people, but many people, but woman who inspire me are my beautiful friends! Most are juggling young children, jobs and businesses at the same time and doingamazing at it! I hope that once I throw kids into the mix I can pull it off as well as they do!

What was your first major setback and how did you overcome it?
A major setback was having health issues of needing double hip surgery and also spinal fusion surgery whilst trying to carry on with running the business. Support from Family, My Partner Sammy and Staff were the only way to overcome it and keep Sisters on London opening each day!

When your not busy with the store, what would you likely be doing?
As soon as I have some daylight in the day spare I am taking my adorable Schnoodle Oscar to the beach or the river for a Run. He is literally my baby and only one of my 3 fur babies! Hot X Bunny the chocolate lop eared rabbit and Hershey the cat make up the family!

1. I would LOVE to open a mini department store here in Hamilton with all of my favourite things to dress a woman from head to toe! Yummy food would also need to be in there somewhere!!
2. Having land for unlimited animals would be a dream! I would love to be put on speed dial from vet clinics and the SPCA so when any animal was about to be put down I would take them and care for them!
3. I would love to help people transform there wardrobes and go shopping with them and help them feel great in clothes every season!

What is something nobody knows about you?
I am obsessed with the Chelsea Winter Cookbooks and baking out of them!

You can visit her store online here or visit her boutique at 61 London Street, Hamilton.

Sweet blog! I found it while surfing around on Yahoo News. Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Thank you
